Allegiance Family Center of Cobb (AFCC) – is committed to helping families identify their goals and to build a belief system that fosters systemic and sustainable growth for them. Our main goal is to provide a supervised visitation center for foster children and their families. It will also result in consistent, visible and measurable improvement in the complete household of every family.
Educational Youth Summits – 2 Day Summit – Teaching youth how to rethink education and to become architects in producing a system that is built on their behalf. This summit will teach them how to become more active in creating their vision for a better future. The first day session will be to connect the youth with powerful speakers from various corporations to engage different views and ideas in rethinking their educational future.
Parenting & Readiness Skills Workshop – 1 hour – 2 days: Teaching parent’s emotional communication skills that enhance the parent-child relationships. This includes teaching parents active listening skills, such as reflecting back what the child is saying. This component also teaches parents to help children recognize their feelings, label and identify emotions, and appropriately express and deal with emotions. Emotional communication skills may also involve teaching parents to reduce negative communication patterns, such as sarcasm and criticism, and allowing children to feel like they are part of the conversation, equal contributors to the communication process. Parents practicing with their children during sessions.
Employment Workshops – 1 hour – 2 days: Will provide career development and job readiness: Learning how to turn their passion into a career. Teach how to make a powerful impression while networking an during interviews; assistance with cover letter, resume writing, thank you letter, notes, applications and mock interview tips. Help them prepare to negotiate the salary and benefits of their new position, be successful in their job, grow in the company and advance in their career.
Success Seminars – 1 day – 2 hour seminar: Understanding what success means, how to become and maintain academic success, learning how to be committed to excellence, learning how action plays a part to all success, success for life skills, open group session.
Learning to Grow – Youth Seminar – 1 day: Discussing daily life and decision-making struggles, understanding pressures of puberty, youth and parent relationships, regrouping and restructuring techniques to deal with peer pressure as a youth and a powerful closing guest speaker.
